If you missed this one, do yourself a favor and go watch a documentary on suspense, because this was pure adrenaline! The Tigers actually fought back, with Riley Greene punishing the Braves with a solo blast to center field to take a 3-2 lead. It looked like the Detroit party was just getting started! But then, the gods of baseball decided to intervene. In the bottom of the 9th, Matt Olson — the man, the myth, the legend — connected with a ball so hard it probably broke the sound barrier! A walk-off home run! The stadium exploded, JR Ritchie became an instant icon, and the Tigers were left standing there looking like they just saw a ghost. Absolute magic!
THE DETROIT MELTDOWNApril 30 (DET 5, ATL 2):
Fast forward just twenty-four hours, and folks, the script didn't just flip — it got shredded and thrown into a woodchipper! The Tigers came in with Framber Valdez, who pitched like he was possessed by the spirit of greatness, eating up innings and silencing the Atlanta crowd. But the real story? The Atlanta defense! It was a comedy of errors! Matt Vierling was absolutely terrorizing the Braves, driving in runs with a double and a single, and then the wheels completely fell off the wagon in the 9th.
