Fast forward four days to Wrigley, and folks, we witnessed something that should be carved into stone! Pete Crow-Armstrong didn't just play baseball; he performed a miracle! He hit a home run in the 1st, and then — get this — he completed the FIRST CYCLE of the 2026 season! I'm not joking! He was dancing on the bases, a one-man wrecking crew! They choked out the Cubs' offense, grinding out a 5-2 win and proving that even a wounded animal can still bite!
THE SWANSON SURGEJune 17 (CHC 8, COL 6):
But you can't keep a good team down! The Cubs came out yesterday looking like they were possessed by the ghosts of legendary ballplayers! The 2nd inning was an absolute slaughterhouse! Matt Shaw tripled, Carson Kelly doubled, and then — BOOM! Dansby Swanson, the man who has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, launched a massive home run to clear the blues off his back! They put up seven runs in a single frame! It was a total massacre! The Rockies tried to mount a comeback in the 8th and 9th with homers from Hunter Goodman and Kyle Karros, but it was too little, too late. The Cubs survived a late scare to win 8-6, proving that while the Rockies might be scrappy, the Cubs are simply elite!
