We kicked things off back in April with a game so wild it felt like a fever dream! The Brewers were trying to play ball, but the Nationals were playing grandmaster-level chess! Brice Turang was launching moonshots for Milwaukee, but James Wood and the Nats kept answering back like they had a subscription to a home run factory. By the 7th inning, it was a total free-for-all — Brady House and Curtis Mead were driving runs in, and then Gary Sánchez decided he wanted to join the party, launching a massive homer to tie it up at 6-6! But wouldn't you know it? The Nats pulled a rabbit out of the hat in the 8th, with Keibert Ruiz delivering the dagger to secure an 8-6 win. Milwaukee fans, I hope you brought your aspirin!
*Fast forward nearly a month to the beginning of May...*
THE NO-HIT NEAR-MISSMay 1 (MIL 6, WSH 1):
Talk about a statement win! The Brewers came out of the hiatus swinging like they owned the place. Jacob Misiorowski was absolutely UNREAL, folks. He was throwing lightning bolts, painting the corners, and cruising through five innings of no-hit baseball with seven strikeouts! He was a god on the mound! The Brewers' offense was relentless, with William Contreras and Tyler Black carving up the Nats. Even though Misiorowski's night ended early due to a cramp, the damage was done. The Crew cruised to a 6-1 blowout, leaving the Nationals looking like they were swinging wooden paddles instead of bats!
THE DEPTH DEMONSTRATIONMay 2 (MIL 4, WSH 1):
The Brewers' bullpen was looking more exhausted than a marathon runner in a desert, but they didn't care! They needed a hero, and Kyle Harrison stepped up to the plate — metaphorically speaking! The Brewers jumped on the Nats early, fueled by a massive 3-run first inning thanks to Brandon Lockridge. While CJ Abrams tried to spark a rally for Washington, the Brewers' depth was just too much. Joey Ortiz added an insurance run in the 8th, and the Crew walked away with a 4-1 victory. It was a professional, clinical dismantling of the Nats!
THE LITTEL LEAPMay 3 (WSH 3, MIL 2):
And just when the Brewers thought they had the Nats figured out, Washington decided to remind everyone that anything can happen! Enter Zack Littell — the man who was leading the league in giving up homers and looking absolutely lost! But in a performance that can only be described as "The Resurrection," Littell found his groove! The Nats clawed back from a 1-0 deficit, with Nasim Nuñez and José Tena turning the game on its head in the 5th. Milwaukee tried to mount a desperate 9th-inning comeback, but the Nats held firm for a 3-2 victory! The Nats stole the series finale, leaving the Brewers wondering if they just played a game against a team of ghosts!
