Broadcaster Hot Take & Form Analysis
CJ Abrams absolutely electrified the atmosphere during his mid-week tear against Detroit, launching two massive moonshots that reminded everyone why he’s such a dangerous weapon. He wasn't just swinging for the fences; he was driving critical production, specifically turning a fly ball into his 32nd home run before following it up with a towering 33rd blast that brought Dylan Crews home in the 7th. That power surge provided the kind of momentum shift that can turn a game on its head in an instant.
However, don't get too comfortable because this kid is currently playing on a high-stakes rollercoaster. The volatility has been jarring, most notably during a frustrating stretch against the Mets where he struggled to find any rhythm, striking out three times in a single outing on September 26th. It has been a classic case of extreme swings—one moment he looks like an All-Star, and the next, he's battling to even make meaningful contact through the zone.
Despite those valley moments, Abrams remains a constant threat to ignite the scoreboard whenever he finds his footing. Whether he’s ripping a triple to drive in Brady House or delivering a clutch two-RBI single to clear the bases, his ability to manufacture runs is undeniable. He might be riding a streaky wave right now, but when that bat connects, he turns a standard lineup into a highlight reel.
